McFarland Consulting are specialist civil/structural engineers. Our engineers operate both on site and in the office working on a wide variety of buildings and structures throughout Ireland and the UK.
We have fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who want to start a career in civil engineering with the possibility of becoming a specialist in forensic engineering after sufficient training and experience.
Some of the tasks that you will be involved with include:
Assist engineers on site with detailed inspections, taking notes, dimensions and photographs
Operate specialist testing equipment to determine the condition of reinforced concrete and steel structures (full training provided)
Use tools on site to extract material samples such as drills, breakers and coring rigs
Be willing to be trained on working in demanding scenarios such as at height on MEWPs and within confined spaces such as tanks and tunnels etc
Collate data from site investigations and process material samples for onward laboratory analysis
Assist with report writing on results from investigations
Assist with site specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments
Assist with company Integrated Management System (third party accredited Quality, Environmental and H&S systems)
